We Build People Campaign

With more than 550 members, the Hensel Eckman YMCA is an essential thread in the fabric of our community – providing much needed programs, services, and facilities for everyone, regardless of ability to pay. For many individuals, their participation is only possible through our Bridging the Gap program, funded through our annual We Build People campaign.  We are asking for your support in enabling us to remain true to our mission of never turning anyone away from the Hensel Eckman YMCA because of inability to pay. 

Our goal this year is to raise $50,000 - providing scholarship dollars for memberships as well as programs such as Child Watch, and facility renovations, such as new gym lighting. Last year, the Hensel Eckman YMCA awarded nearly $15,000 in scholarships to more than 77 children and adults. This year, we are on pace to award nearly $20,000. 

We have seen an increase not only in the level of need of those applying, but also in the actual number of people applying for support.  This growth reflects a genuine need that the Hensel Eckman YMCA is committed to meeting.  Your generous gift will make this possible, staying right in our community to support friends and neighbors. 

Your support will...

…help parents know that their child is safe and cared for in the YMCA’s preschool program – while they work during the day to make ends meet. 

…give children a safe place to play while their parent(s) works out

…enable the Y’s facilities to grow with its memberships to give better access and support members need to achieve a healthy lifestyle, regardless of ability to pay for membership expenses.
